Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Estimator II to join our Engineering, Construction & Supply Chain team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate project cost estimates, developing pricing models, supporting conceptual engineering design, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project planning and execution. The position offers exposure to utility-scale renewable energy, transmission, substations, water treatment, hydrogen, pipelines, and other infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and definitive project cost estimates.
- Develop pricing models and estimating methodologies.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Support conceptual engineering design and preliminary construction planning.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and scope quantification.
- Conduct value engineering analyses to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop and maintain estimating databases and tools.
- Perform risk assessments and prepare project contingencies.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, contractors, and suppliers.
- Track project costs and estimate variances throughout the project lifecycle.
- Present estimates and recommendations to project stakeholders and management.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, industry practices, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or hands-on experience in construction, engineering, or estimating
- Experience with estimating software such as PlanSwift, WinEst, CostX, or similar
- Experience with MS Project or Primavera P6
- Experience supporting infrastructure, utility, renewable energy, or EPC projects
