Job Title: Hybrid Infrastructure Administrator

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Hybrid Infrastructure Administrator to manage, maintain, and modernize enterprise IT infrastructure across on-premises data centers and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in systems administration, virtualization, networking, storage, security, and cloud infrastructure.

The successful candidate will ensure the availability, reliability, security, and performance of critical infrastructure while supporting modernization initiatives, infrastructure automation, and cloud adoption. Experience with VMware, AWS, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and enterprise networking technologies is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

On-Premises Infrastructure Management

• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux server environments.
• Manage enterprise infrastructure components, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, domain controllers, and Group Policy.
• Configure and maintain network components to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient operations.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and system health.
• Perform operating system upgrades, security patching, and routine maintenance.
• Design, implement, and support virtualized infrastructure using VMware technologies.
• Manage server, storage, and networking resources across enterprise environments.

Cloud and Hybrid Infrastructure Management

• Administer and support hybrid infrastructure environments across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
• Deploy, configure, and maintain cloud infrastructure, networking, and security services.
• Integrate on-premises systems with cloud platforms to support hybrid operations.
• Implement infrastructure monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
• Apply cloud security and identity management best practices.

Infrastructure Automation and DevOps

• Develop automation scripts to streamline infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and maintenance.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, Ansible, Pulumi, or similar tools.
• Use PowerShell, Bash, Python, or other scripting languages to automate administrative tasks.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation frameworks.
• Promote standardization, repeatability, and operational efficiency through automation.

Networking, Security, and Storage

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure and firewall policies.
• Administer firewall technologies, including SonicWall and Palo Alto.
• Manage network security, access controls, and connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments.
• Support enterprise storage and data protection technologies, including Isilon, Vblock, VxRail, Data Domain, and Avamar.
• Maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Ensure infrastructure configurations comply with organizational security policies and operational standards.

Vendor and Project Management

• Coordinate with third-party vendors, service providers, and technology partners.
• Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
• Track project timelines, technical dependencies, deliverables, and operational risks.
• Balance project delivery with ongoing infrastructure support responsibilities.
• Maintain technical documentation, configuration records, and operational procedures.

Troubleshooting and Collaboration

• Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure, networking, virtualization, and cloud issues.
• Collaborate with IT operations, security, networking, and application teams.
• Communicate technical information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow established operational procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure reliability, security, performance, and efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience administering enterprise infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Hands-on expertise with Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Experience administering VMware virtualization technologies.
• Working experience supporting AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform environments.
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, firewall administration, and infrastructure security.
• Experience with SonicWall and Palo Alto firewall technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or equivalent technologies.
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
• Knowledge of enterprise storage, backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
• Experience with enterprise storage platforms such as Isilon, Vblock, VxRail, Data Domain, or Avamar.
• Experience coordinating vendors and delivering infrastructure projects.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hybrid cloud architecture and on-premises-to-cloud migrations.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring, configuration management, and security compliance.
• Knowledge of cloud identity management, access controls, and disaster recovery planning.
• Relevant certifications in VMware, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, networking, or infrastructure administration.
