Vazquez Commercial Contracting, LLC is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through successful closeout. This position is responsible for coordinating project teams, managing budgets and schedules, mitigating risks, maintaining strong project documentation, and delivering high-quality work safely, on time, and within budget.
The Project Manager will work closely with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure successful project execution and long-term client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage construction projects from preconstruction and buyout through completion and closeout
- Develop and maintain project schedules using tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6
- Manage project budgets, cost tracking, monthly forecasting, pay applications, and financial reporting
- Coordinate subcontractor solicitation, scope reviews, bid packages, buyout, and subcontract issuance
- Manage submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, change requests, procurement logs, and project documentation
- Coordinate project activities with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams
- Lead progress meetings, project reviews, and owner-architect-contractor meetings
- Identify potential schedule, cost, manpower, weather, and scope impacts and develop mitigation strategies
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout all phases of the project
- Monitor subcontractor performance, project risks, quality, schedule, and contractual compliance
- Oversee project closeout, including punch lists, warranties, as-built drawings, final documentation, and financial closeout
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and community partners
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of seven years of progressive construction management experience
- Proven experience managing commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts, scheduling, budgeting, safety regulations, and industry best practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction management platforms is highly desirable
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
- Ability to work nontraditional hours when necessary to meet project demands
- PMP, CCM, LEED AP, or similar professional certification
- Experience with commercial government contracting, including federal, state, and municipal projects
- Experience with MATOC or JOC contracting
- Familiarity with Lean construction principles and sustainable building practices
