Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their deli purchases, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS accurately for quick transactions.
• Handle cash, credit card payments, and perform cash handling duties with precision.
• Prepare and package deli foods according to safety standards, including slicing meats, cheeses, and other products.
• Upsell products by suggesting complementary items to increase sales and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, including food preparation surfaces, display cases, and utensils in compliance with food safety regulations.
• Restock shelves, organize displays, and ensure product freshness and proper labeling.
• Assist with food preparation tasks when needed, supporting kitchen staff during busy periods.
• Buss tables or clean workstations to uphold sanitation standards throughout your shift.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management promptly.
• Follow all safety procedures related to food handling, sanitation, and equipment use.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions about products and assisting with special requests or dietary needs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food service, retail grocery store, or quick service & fast food restaurant preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of food handling procedures, sanitation practices, and food safety regulations.
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and transaction accuracy.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and clear communication abilities.
• Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while multitasking efficiently.
• Experience with food preparation or culinary tasks is advantageous but not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is essential.
• Capable of standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks such as lifting supplies or bending during restocking or cleaning activities. Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
