Position Purpose
Responsible for the operation of molding presses and related equipment in production of quality products.
Essential Duties and responsibilities
- Operate molding presses.
- Load and unload raw materials and parts.
- Monitor and adjust if needed the machine instrumentation.
- Weight out the materials, trim/adjust the material size and/or weight
- Ensure proper housekeeping by clearing and cleaning workspace.
- Complete all paperwork pertaining to production neatly and correctly following all quality standards.
- Perform visual checks of the molded parts
- Monitor, record and report all scrap.
- Meet production targets.
- Perform inspection of machine to identify potential malfunctions.
- Responsible for following all Vaupell policies, standard operating procedures and safety practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications/Requirements
- High school diploma/general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of experience, training and education
- Ability to read, speak, understand and follow instructions in English.
- Capable of using basic hand tools
- Comprehension of basic math, including fractions, decimals, averages and percentages
- Must be able to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment
Candidates must be a “US Person” (i.e. US Citizen or Permanent Resident) to ensure Vaupell's compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations)
Environmental Condition
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to remain standing/walking through most of shift.
This position requires the ability to remain standing and walking for most of the shift while performing a variety of physical tasks in a fast-paced environment. The role regularly involves bending, reaching above and below shoulder level, lifting and carrying items under 25 pounds, and occasional handling of loads up to 50 pounds. Frequent use of hand skills, including grasping, handling, finger dexterity, and keyboarding, is essential, along with strong eye-hand coordination and the ability to see clearly at both near and far distances. The position also requires the ability to turn, twist, push, pull, and maintain awareness of surroundings, with occasional climbing of ladders and balancing as needed.
