What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Operator position at Vault Manufacturing?
We are looking to hire a skilled CNC Milling Set-Up and Operator in Mundelein, IL.
Shifts Available: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
Pay Range: $35.00-$45.00/hr (Based on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes (HAAS equipment)
- Operate collaborative robots (UR) for automated machine loading
- Read and interpret G-code and M-code
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and pin gauges
- Collaborate with team members to optimize tooling, fixtures, and programs
- Suggest Design for Manufacturing (DFM) improvements to reduce cost and complexity
- Maintain a clean, efficient, and organized work environment following 5S principles
- Support other operations as needed (EDM, Swiss, deburring)
Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in CNC mill setup and operation
- Strong blueprint reading and inspection skills
- Experience with robot-assisted machining (a plus)
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
