Senior Accountant Role
Responsible for overseeing daily accounting activities, maintaining the general ledger, balancing bank
accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, and supporting the
month-end and year-end close processes. This role analyzes financial data, reconciles complex accounts,
identifies process improvements, and collaborates with cross-functional departments to ensure the
integrity of financial information.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Maintain and balance bank accounts.
- Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Analyze financial results and investigate variances.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing schedules and supporting documentation.
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Research and resolve complex accounting issues.
- Mentor and provide guidance to staff accountants.
- Participate in ERP implementations, system upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Revenue Assurance (FP&A), Payroll
- (HR), Treasury, and Operations to resolve accounting issues.
- Prepare tax-related schedules and assist with compliance filings as needed.
- Analyze aging, reserves, and write-offs.
- Prepare schedules for lenders and auditors.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Advanced knowledge of general ledger accounting. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with ERP systems (preferred NetSuite)
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
