Position Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for a wide range of general ledger accounting duties, financial reporting, and variance analysis. The position also has direct supervision responsibilities and is required to lead specific accounting related projects.
Position Responsibilities:
· Monthly closing duties including calculation and preparation of journal entries and/or review of journal entries prepared by the accounting team
· Pre-closing tasks such as review of preliminary financial statements to identify potential corrections
· Post-closing duties such as account analysis and reconciliations
· Coordination of subsidiary accounting
· Parent company reporting duties including final results upload and balance verification
· Income tax duties including preparation of information for federal and state quarterly and annual filings
· Other tax preparation functions including providing information for foreign tax filings
· Quarterly and year-end audit support including gathering data and responding to auditor inquiries
· Annual financial statement and footnote preparation
· JSOX audit responsibilities including documenting and testing procedures
· Other miscellaneous accounting duties as assign
Qualifications:Essential Skills and Experience:
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
Training
· NA
Skills
· Will be a skilled communicator, team builder, leader and able to apply financial expertise in support of an entrepreneurial business environment (As determined in job interview).
· Will have excellent skills in Microsoft Excel (As demonstrated in interview test).
Experience
· Minimum of four years of progressive accounting experience.
· Experience in any of the following areas is preferred: internal audit, SOX or JSOX audit, corporate tax preparation, financial reporting for income taxes, or financial reporting for foreign subsidiaries.
Nonessential Skills and Experience:
CPA, MBA or equivalent is preferred. Experience with Sage software is preferred.
Reporting to this position: Various accounting positions in Accounts Payable and Financial Analysis may report to this position (as determined by the Controller).
