Key Responsibilities
- Cable Counting: Accurately count and document cable lengths while spooling.
- Inspection & Testing: Perform detailed inspections and testing of cables to identify faults, damage, or wear using specialized tools and equipment.
- Repair & Maintenance: Diagnose and repair damaged or faulty cables and connectors to restore functionality.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety standards, guidelines, and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including service reports, cable layouts, and testing outcomes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve electrical cable issues using diagnostic tools and technical expertise.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate tools and equipment to ensure proper working condition.
Qualifications & SkillsEducation
- High school diploma or GED required.
Experience
- Proven experience as an electrical cable technician or similar role.
- Knowledge of low-voltage and high-voltage cables is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in cable spooling, counting, evaluation, splicing, and termination techniques.
- Experience using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, cable testers, and Hi-Pot testers.
- Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in electrical work.
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
Experience:
- electrical cable technician: 3 years (Required)
- low-voltage/high-voltage cables: 2 years (Preferred)
