Business Analyst - BA - MS - MDHS

The Mississippi Client (MDHS) is seeking experienced Business Analysts to support the Success Data Conversion Project within the Maverics Team. The selected professionals will serve as the primary liaison between business users and technical teams, providing critical operational support, issue resolution, and business process analysis to ensure successful project execution.

This role requires hands-on experience supporting benefit determination systems, troubleshooting user issues, managing support requests, and collaborating with program and technical stakeholders to maintain seamless business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for users experiencing application and system-related issues.
• Analyze, diagnose, and resolve user inquiries related to business processes, system functionality, and data manipulation.
• Manage and track support requests received via phone, email, ticketing systems, and chat portals.
• Document incidents, resolutions, and root-cause findings in JIRA and other tracking tools.
• Prioritize and coordinate issue resolution activities to support ongoing project operations.
• Escalate complex or recurring issues to management and technical teams as appropriate.
• Partner with Client business units and technical staff to gather requirements and address operational challenges.
• Conduct business process analysis and recommend improvements based on recurring support trends.
• Maintain detailed documentation to support future system enhancements and process optimization initiatives.
• Ensure high-quality customer service while effectively communicating technical and policy-related information to end users.
  
  

Required Qualifications

Mandatory Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience working with automated eligibility/benefits determination systems supporting one or more of the following programs:
• SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)
• TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)
• Employment & Training (E&T) Programs
  
  

Technical Skills

• Experience with help desk, application support, or business systems support functions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-resolution capabilities.
• Experience documenting and managing incidents within ticketing environments.
• Ability to analyze business processes and identify root causes of operational issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience collaborating with business stakeholders and technical teams.
  
  

Platform Knowledge

• Advanced proficiency with Windows operating systems and desktop applications.
• Experience working with databases and data inquiries.
• Understanding of data quality and data validation concepts.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using JIRA or similar issue-tracking/change-management systems.
• Professional Business Analyst certification (CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or equivalent).
• Experience supporting large-scale data conversion or modernization initiatives.
• Familiarity with government human services programs and eligibility systems.
• Working knowledge of:
• Mainframe environments
• Linux operating systems
• SQL Server
• ADABAS databases
