Position Summary
The Oklahoma Insurance Department (OID), in partnership with the Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES), is seeking an experienced AS400 Developer / Administrator to support and maintain critical legacy applications and databases within the agency's IBM AS/400 (IBM iSeries) environment.

The successful candidate will serve as the primary technical resource responsible for supporting RPG-based applications, DB2 databases, application security, data integrations, job scheduling, and migration preparation activities to support future modernization efforts.

Legacy Application Development & Support
- Maintain, enhance, and support legacy business applications developed using:
- RPG
- RPG III
- RPG IV (ILE RPG)
- RPGLE
- CL (Control Language)
- Troubleshoot production issues, batch processing failures, and user-reported defects.
- Modify application logic to support business, regulatory, licensing, and compliance changes.
- Perform application debugging, testing, deployment, and post-implementation validation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between OID and the hosting provider.
- Coordinate:
- Operating System Maintenance
- Patch Management
- Database Utilities
- Environment Changes
- Manage application security including:
- User Profiles
- Object-Level Security
- Access Controls
- Audit Log Review (QAUDJRN)
- Support:
- Job Queues
- Active Subsystems
- Application Scheduling Processes
- Coordinate backup, recovery, disaster recovery testing, and restoration validation activities.
- Administer and maintain DB2 for i databases.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries and indexes to improve application performance.
- Perform database troubleshooting, maintenance, and performance tuning.
- Support secure file transfer processes using:
- FTP
- SFTP
- Maintain integrations with internal and external partner systems.
- Partner with database administrators, infrastructure teams, and cloud architects.
- Support legacy data extraction, cleanup, archival, and migration activities.

- Agency must maintain and provide proof of $5 Million Cyber Insurance Coverage.
