Qualifications
- Valid Secondary Michigan teaching certificate preferred.
- CTE Certification Requirement- Candidates must meet one of the following:
- Hold a valid Michigan CTE teaching certificate in Business, Finance or Marketing,
OR
- Be eligible to obtain an Annual Career Authorization, which requires documentation of at least 4,000 hours of relevant industry experience.
- Industry experience should be in one or more of the following areas: Business Management or Marketing or Finance and Computer Science
- Ability or willingness to teach AP Computer Science. Training may be required.
- IB experience and / or training preferred.
- Advanced Placement (AP) experience and/or training preferred.
- Successful experience working with/instructing secondary students preferred.
- Applicants must possess strong interpersonal skills and a strong desire to promote student success.
Description
- Provide high quality instruction that supports and aligns to the district's educational vision and mission.
- Facilitate an environment that fosters the learning of all students.
- Remain knowledgeable of educational standards and strategies to meet the academic, developmental and social emotional needs of students.
- Assess and modify instructional practice leading toward increased student achievement.
- Utilize educational technology to support student’s instruction and learning.
- Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with students, peers, parents and community.
- This is a split building position requiring travel between the IB program and another secondary school.
