Position Details
The East China School District, St. Clair 6-12 Campus, is looking for an enthusiastic Secondary Science Teacher to inspire and engage students in meaningful scientific learning. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about building strong relationships with students, creating hands-on and inquiry-based learning experiences, and helping students explore, question, and better understand the world around them. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with either a DX or DI endorsement (Science)
- Bachelor’s degree in Science Education or related field required
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Michigan Department of Education standards and secondary science curriculum
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction using a variety of teaching strategies, technology, and hands-on learning experiences
- Strong classroom management and student relationship-building skills
- Commitment to collaboration with colleagues, families, and support staff
- Ability to analyze student data to inform instruction and support student achievement
- Experience differentiating instruction to meet diverse student learning needs
- Previous secondary science (Gr 6-12) teaching experience
- Experience with NGSS-aligned instruction and inquiry-based learning
