SUMMER SCHOOL COORDINATOR (INTERNAL ONLY)
TITLE: Summer School Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Curriculum & Assessment
SUPERVISES: Summer School Staff
JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for the coordination of the BESD Summer School Program to include the supervision of professional staff and students. Coordinates all summer school activities. Responsible for coordinating recruitment and enrollment of students and staff as well as ordering curriculum as needed. Collaborating with principals to maintain a building environment that is conducive to learning. Coordinates with teachers regularly. Collect and analyze student achievement data.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
- Valid Arizona teaching certificate
- Three years of successful teaching experience
- Have or be working on administrative certificate or hold a leadership position within the school (Academic Coach, Reading Specialist, etc) [preferred]
- IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the summer school program.
- Work with site principals (and CIA designee) to set up digital classrooms and small groups using available data.
- Being responsible for collection and maintenance of all summer school records.
- Communicating with and working cooperatively with site principals and administrative assistants.
- Organizing summer school teacher orientation/training in collaboration with the Executive Director of Curriculum and Assessment.
- Organize and prepare summer school registrations and classes.
- Coordinate pre and post testing of summer school students as well as progress monitoring; analyze student data in collaboration with the District Assessment Coordinator.
- Order (any needed) summer school curriculum.
- Monitor and manage student issues as referred by teachers.
- Perform other duties as assigned
