A growing manufacturing company in Canton, MI is seeking a Cost Accountant to join its finance team. This role will support plant operations by providing financial analysis, cost accounting expertise, and business insights that drive operational performance and profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Manage standard costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variance analysis
- Analyze production costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
- Prepare financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and month-end close activities
- Partner with plant leadership to provide financial guidance and operational support
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5 years of accounting and finance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience providing financial leadership and business partnership within a manufacturing plant
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing financial reporting
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial controls, and reporting requirements
