Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to join our team of geospatial professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in land surveying, leadership skills and the ability to oversee survey crew operations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a crew of one or two instrument operators and coordinate survey crew activities
- Use Trimble Robotic Total Stations, Data Collector, GNSS and other equipment to collect data
- Carry and set up the instruments and equipment and prepare the job site for a survey
- Care for and maintain the survey instruments and equipment as well as stock the survey vehicle
- Ensure the crew uses appropriate safety equipment and follows established work safety policies, practices and procedures
- Collaborate with project managers to meet deadlines
Qualifications:
- High School/GED or equivalent
- Documented experience as a Survey Party Chief or similar role
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record is required
- Strong leadership, strategic planning and communication skills are required
- In depth knowledge of surveying practices and equipment
- Effectively work as a team, collaborate, contribute and respect others.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English to comprehend verbal and written communications.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
