Position Overview
The Production Manager plays a vital leadership role in Vanterra’s structural and waterproofing division, overseeing all aspects of field operations to ensure exceptional quality, efficiency, and safety. This position bridges the gap between office planning and field execution by supporting crews, optimizing operational processes, and maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and professionalism.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong mechanical aptitude, organizational skills, and the ability to effectively lead teams while maintaining strong customer relationships.
The Production Manager is responsible for the daily oversight of all structural and waterproofing crews, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Vanterra’s quality standards.
This role involves coordinating day-to-day field operations, maintaining communication with crew foremen, and ensuring all project details are reviewed and approved prior to work beginning. The Production Manager will also manage the scheduling of utility locates for exterior excavations and provide logistical support through material pickups and deliveries as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and monitor structural and waterproofing crews and their installations
- Enforce safety policies and maintain a safe working environment in compliance with local regulations
- Ensure quality workmanship and adherence to company standards
- Develop a thorough understanding of Vanterra’s structural and waterproofing practices and procedures
- Identify operational challenges and contribute to improving and optimizing standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Coordinate necessary engineering and city permit jobsite inspections
- Provide on-site guidance, leadership, and technical support to installation teams
- Conduct regular site inspections and promptly address any deficiencies, defects, or safety concerns
- Ensure projects comply with environmental regulations and align with sustainability best practices
- Participate in hiring decisions and disciplinary actions related to operations personnel
- Manage and oversee training and development programs for new and existing operations personnel
- Review and audit team truck inventories and provide guidance on effective inventory management
- Manage the escalation process for service issues to ensure timely and professional resolution
- Maintain accurate and organized project documentation within the company CRM system
- Conduct pre-job walkthroughs as needed to prepare teams and ensure readiness
- Perform post-job walkthroughs to confirm installation quality and customer satisfaction
Additional responsibilities include managing vehicle and equipment maintenance schedules through a formal tracking system, supporting post-job customer service by coordinating permit closeouts with municipalities, and overseeing warranty visits or adjustments as required.
