What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) position at Vantage Speech & Language, LLC?
Duties:
- Assist in the implementation of occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to patients with various conditions, including but not limited to occupational health, pediatrics, and acute care.
- Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist to develop and modify treatment plans based on patient progress and goals.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records of treatment sessions.
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and exercises to promote independence and improve functional abilities.
- Utilize medical imaging and anatomy knowledge to assess patients' physical limitations and develop appropriate treatment strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with current research and trends in occupational therapy to enhance clinical practice.
Requirements:
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in South Carolina.
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Experience working with pediatric populations is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing patient needs and treatment plans.
This position is part-time or full-time at our clinic and/or home health.
