What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Cook/Prep Cook position at Vantage Point Brewing Company?
Overview
Looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our team. At least 2 years of experience in the industry is preferred. Ideal candidates will need to have a great attitude, be a strong teammate and be available to work on the weekends.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assist in the assembly of menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
- Support the kitchen team with food preparation, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Follow safe food handling procedures and ensure a clean kitchen environment
- Assist with meal plating, garnishing, and presentation to enhance visual appeal
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts
- Collaborate with team members on daily menu planning and special catering events when needed
- Ability to work multiple service stations effectively and clean dishes as needed
Requirements
- Previous experience using barbecues, smokers, slicing, and frying equipment
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques
- Upholds food safety standards and proper food handling practices
- Experience in menu planning, meal preparation, or catering events is a plus
- Great teamwork skills with the ability to follow directions accurately in a small fast-paced kitchen
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds comfortably and be able to stand for extended periods of time
