Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Physical Demand Ratings are an estimate of the overall strength requirements that are considered to be important for an average, successful work performance of a specific job. In order to classify the occupation of a worker with a physical demand rating, the most strenuous and frequently performed tasks are evaluated. The overall physical demand rating for a job of the PT falls within the Medium classification according to the Dictionary of Occupational Titles. However, due to the population in contracted facilities, this position has been classified as Heavy (exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Qualifications
- Graduate of APTA accredited PTA school and eligible for licensure in the state they are practicing in.
- Prior long-term care experience preferred
- Complies with ethical, regulatory, procedural and professional standards and practice guidelines as defined by state of licensure.
- Assists the PT in providing physical therapy treatments to residents as determined by the Plan of Care.
- Manages caseload with supervisor by scheduling treatment individually or in groups while maintaining efficiency expectations.
- Instructs resident, family, and caregivers in PT to be continued upon discharge.
- Adheres to PPS guidelines, ensures all PT documentation/treatment conforms to documentation/billing policies and procedures.
- Working with PT, provides oversight and direction of techs and assists in the supervision and education of affiliating students.
- Assists in the assurance that the physical surroundings and equipment are sanitary, orderly and free from conditions that may cause safety hazards.
- Maintains resident confidentiality and privacy. Fosters feelings of self-worth and respect by treating residents with kindness and understanding.
- Knows and complies with Residents’ Bill of Rights. Reports all grievances and resident complaints to administrator and/or Director of Nursing immediately.
- Reports any incident involving rehab staff to RD and Regional Operations Specialist immediately.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to 100 pounds.

- Maintains own professional competence as well as learning new creative trends in PT treatment through participation in continuing education, seminars and training programs.
- Attends all mandatory in-services.
