What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator position at Vanguard Products Corporation?
Vanguard Products Corporation is a full service manufacturing and engineering company, producing high precision elastomeric and fabricated rubber and silicone products. Our products are manufactured in the USA in our ISO9001:2015 Danbury, CT facility. We offer a full spectrum of extruded and molded gaskets, seals, and tubing, both standard and customized. Additionally, we provide responsive specialty, custom rubber product design, development, and manufacturing services.
We are looking for two Machine Operators- Extrusion to add to our growing workforce. We welcome candidates with a couple of years of experience and are willing to provide training for the right individual. The Machine Operator- Extrusion is responsible for operating extrusion machines to ensure efficient production of high-quality products.
We have 2 positions available, one for the night shift and one for the day shift. For the night shift the candidate will need to train for a few weeks during the day shift before transitioning to the night shift.
The positions report to the Manufacturing manager, they pay hourly, and there is significant overtime available.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To properly operate an extruder machine and any support equipment to produce quality product in a timely fashion.
2. Familiar with materials and tooling related to assigned work.
3. Work with Quality Control to maximize quality.
4. Make process adjustments.
5. Keep the machine and related equipment operating properly and clean including tooling, surrounding area.
6. Operate safely at all times
7. Familiar with tooling for various work orders
8. Completion of paperwork related to a specific work order.
Knowledge and Skills:
Light lifting required.
Use of hand gages for measurement.
