Key Responsibilities
- Work with the project team and purchasing department to determine material needs for electrical projects.
- Place orders with suppliers for electrical materials, tools, and equipment.
- Track the status of orders, ensuring on-time delivery and compliance with specifications.
- Keep warehouse and inventory organized.
- Expedite the delivery of materials to job sites, coordinating with suppliers, vendors, and transportation companies.
- Monitor and resolve delays in material shipments, working to mitigate any impact on project timelines.
- Ensure that the proper quantity and quality of materials are delivered to the correct location.
- Maintain inventory levels at the warehouse and job site, ensuring that necessary materials are in stock and available when needed.
- Monitor material usage and proactively order items before running low to prevent delays.
- Assist with inventory audits and ensure accurate records for materials.
- Update tool log on projects utilizing tool tracking platform.
- Maintain accurate records of orders, deliveries, and material usage.
- Prepare and submit reports related to materials procurement, shortages, and project progress to the project manager or procurement team.
- Ensure that all materials are properly documented in project files for future reference.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure reliable service and competitive pricing.
- Resolve issues related to damaged goods, incorrect orders, or delivery discrepancies with vendors.
- Negotiate pricing and delivery terms with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
- Ensure all materials meet safety and quality standards as per regulatory and company guidelines.
- Follow all safety procedures when handling and transporting materials to the job site.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in construction management, supply chain, or a related field is a plus.
- 2 years of experience in materials expediting, procurement, or logistics, preferably in the construction or electrical industry.
- Clean driving record, current insurance coverage that meets minimum state requirements and a valid drivers license.
- Familiarity with electrical materials, tools, and equipment used in construction projects.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and solve problems under pressure.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance requirements in the construction industry.
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to travel to various job sites and suppliers as needed.
- Ability to work in both office and outdoor environments, including exposure to construction sites.
