Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Deli Associate to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving food items, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service or retail, with strong skills in food handling, cashiering, and sanitation. Previous experience with POS systems such as Aloha or Micros is a plus. Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of deli foods with attention to quality and presentation
- Operate POS systems including Aloha and Micros for efficient transactions
- Handle cash, process payments accurately, and manage cash handling procedures
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with product selection and inquiries
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in food preparation areas and throughout the store
- Restock deli items, organize displays, and ensure proper food safety practices are followed
- Assist with food safety protocols, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Upsell products to increase sales while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Support other duties such as bussing tables or cleaning as needed in the café or retail environment
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation, food service, or retail environments preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha or Micros is advantageous
- Experience working in quick service or fast-food restaurants is beneficial
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods
- Proven ability in sales, upselling, and providing excellent customer service
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and accurate transaction processing
- Experience working in grocery stores, cafés, or restaurants is highly desirable
