Summary:
We are looking for a seasoned Sr. Events Manager to join our U.S. Distribution team, reporting to the Vice President, Head of Events. This person will be responsible executing and supporting the firm’s U.S. event program, including corporate and proprietary events, sponsored conferences, and internal events. The successful candidate will have technical knowledge to lead effective event execution using the latest technology. The Sr. Events Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders, including business partners, regional marketing colleagues, channel managers, outside vendors, and third-party service providers. The successful candidate will have experience producing and managing large-scale, innovative national and high-profile events, and providing tactical guidance. The Sr. Events Manager should understand the business, VanEck’s culture, and be able to handle an evolving fast paced environment.

Responsibilities Include:
- Develop and manage the firm’s third-party conference calendar
- Conduct in-depth analysis on major conference opportunities including assessment of potential value and negotiations with vendors to maximize the value
- Research, develop, manage, and execute firmwide events across the U.S.
- Negotiate contracts pertaining to event accommodations, venues, activities, and transportation
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on the planning, budgeting, and design of internal and external client events in support of firmwide strategic initiatives, marketing and brand priorities, and stated objectives
- Strong understanding of meeting technologies, specifically Cvent and Splash
- Identify, socialize, and implement best practices (technology, content activation, execution) with regional managers
- Research and propose new event ideas and opportunities
- Build and strengthen relationships with internal teams and external business partners
- Develop relationships with vendors, including hotels, restaurants, and transportation companies, to secure best possible rates and opportunities
- Own responsibility and accountability for event budgets and reconciliation
Qualifications:
- Willingness and ability to travel is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe InDesign
- Prior experience using Cvent or Certain Event Management software, Splash Event Management software, Salesforce, Microsoft 360, ChatGPT, Claude, Jira, and Zoom
- Portfolio of previously managed events
- Knowledge of the asset management industry and investments
- Extremely detail-oriented, with strong organizational, multi-tasking, decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage projects across businesses, functions, and geographic locations
- Team-player attitude and a desire to work on a wide range of projects
- Time management skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills, and executive presence
- Ability to effectively engage and communicate with all levels of VanEck management and staff, as well as clients and prospects
- Strong work ethic and proven capacity to work effectively with minimum supervision, under pressure and tight deadlines, in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with a business-related concentration preferred.
- 7 years events planning experience, asset management events experience a plus.

Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work on-site in New York, NY, with a minimum in-office presence of four days per week
- Must be willing to travel approximately 30% annually
- Must be flexible to work extended hours, including occasional weekends
Compensation:
If this position will be performed in whole or in part in New York City, the base salary range is $120,000 to $150,000. Individual salaries may vary based on different factors including but not limited to, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with this position.
