Senior Cost Accountant Responsibilities
- Lead standard cost development, maintenance, and variance analysis to ensure accurate product costing and margins.
- Own inventory integrity through reconciliations, cycle counts, absorption reporting, and E&O valuation.
- Prepare and analyze cost, margin, and manufacturing performance reports to drive operational improvements.
- Support month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and product cost reporting.
- Partner with operations, supply chain, and finance teams while supporting audits, compliance, and internal controls.
Senior Cost Accountant Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of manufacturing accounting experience, including recent hands-on cost accounting.
- Strong working knowledge of standard costing, inventory, PPV, absorption, and margin analysis.
- Experience supporting audits, internal controls, and ideally SOX or government-related cost environments.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze, reconcile, and present complex financial data.
