Risk Management & Safety Officer Responsibilities
- Oversee OR-OSHA compliance, develop safety policies, and deliver safety training across all organization departments.
- Reestablish and lead the organization wide safety program, including committees, risk assessments, and preventative measures.
- Investigate incidents, coordinate insurance claims, and partner with Police, Public Works, and Facilities to mitigate risks.
- Build and administer safety, cybersecurity, and emergency management training programs.
- Research, apply for, and support management of safety-related grants.
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or 3 years of related field or equivalent experience; safety certifications preferred.
- Demonstrated safety/OSHA regulations experience in a lead or program-driving capacity.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills across varied stakeholder groups.
- Ability to independently manage projects and guide others without formal supervisory authority.
- Experience with risk assessment/management, emergency management, or insurance claim coordination is beneficial.
