This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on payroll professional who enjoys complex, full-cycle payroll work across multiple companies and unions. You’ll be part of a collaborative, long-tenured payroll team and play a key role in system conversion, salaried/corporate payroll ownership, and union dues processing. Primary Responsibilities
- Own the full-cycle payroll for salaried exempt and corporate hourly staff; assist with weekly union payroll processing and dues payments.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, perform audits, and update work instructions to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Generate and maintain complex payroll reports (e.g., taxes, earnings, deductions, union-related reporting) using Excel and payroll software tools.
- Support payroll system conversion initiatives, including GL mapping, integrations, parallel testing, and process documentation.
- Collaborate with HR, IT, and accounting teams to implement process improvements and provide mentorship within the payroll team.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 3 years of full-cycle payroll experience, ideally with exposure to payroll system conversions.
- Strong understanding of payroll principles, wage and hour laws, garnishments, and reporting tools; union and multi-company payroll experience a plus.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, etc.) and experience using more than one payroll system.
- CPP or FPC certification preferred but not required.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
This hybrid position requires an onsite presence the Vancouver / Camas area - local or relocating candidates only, please.
