Accounting/Payroll Specialist

Our client is seeking an Accounting/Payroll Specialist who brings dependability, discretion, and a sharp eye for detail to a collaborative finance team. The ideal candidate is a clear communicator and service-minded problem solver who works well independently, stays composed under deadlines, and handles confidential information with integrity. This is a hands-on role where accuracy and trust make a visible difference every day.

This role is on-site in Vancouver, Washington.

Responsibilities

• Process semi-monthly payroll, including timesheet review, corrections, approvals, and vendor submission.
• Serve as the go-to payroll contact for employees, supervisors, and outside agencies, researching and resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports, and assist with W-2 and 1099 preparation and compliance.
• Support accounts payable and receivable through invoice processing, coding, billing, reimbursements, and vendor maintenance.
• Record general ledger entries, reconcile bank deposits, and assist with budget-to-actual reporting, purchase orders, and audits.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years of related experience, or 5 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Strong working knowledge of payroll, AP, and AR accounting practices.
• Proficiency with accounting software, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Customer service and lead-worker experience, with the ability to work independently with limited guidance.

Salary: $26–$39.21/hr. (DOE)Benefits
