Duties
- Operate asphalt pavers and related heavy equipment with precision to ensure even, high-quality pavement surfaces.
- Coordinate with crew members to prepare the site, including setting up machinery and ensuring proper material flow.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues quickly and maintain optimal operation throughout the project.
- Assist with loading materials using loaders and dump trucks, ensuring timely delivery of asphalt mix.
- Support concrete pouring, finishing, and forming tasks as needed to complement paving operations.
- Maintain safety standards by conducting routine inspections of machinery and adhering to construction site protocols.
- Document work progress, equipment maintenance logs, and safety checks accurately for project records.
Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as asphalt pavers, excavators, loaders, and dump trucks.
- Familiarity with concrete mixing, pumping, finishing, and forming processes is highly desirable.
- Prior construction site experience with an emphasis on paving projects or roadwork is preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and minor repairs of paving machinery and related equipment.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent certification for operating commercial vehicles on-site.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to construction operations and equipment handling.
