Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Automotive Parts Consultant to join our team. This role involves assisting customers in selecting the right automotive parts and accessories, managing inventory, and providing expert advice on vehicle maintenance and repair. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a solid understanding of automotive diagnostics and repair, and experience in retail sales or dealership environments. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve a diverse customer base. Duties
- Assist customers in identifying and selecting automotive parts and accessories based on their vehicle needs
- Provide expert advice on vehicle maintenance, repair procedures, and product features
- Manage inventory levels through inventory control systems, ensuring stock accuracy and availability
- Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems, including cash handling and order fulfillment
- Maintain organized stock shelves, ensure proper stocking procedures, and monitor inventory levels
- Utilize automotive diagnostics tools and knowledge to recommend appropriate parts and services
- Support marketing efforts by promoting products and services to increase sales opportunities
- Collaborate with service technicians and sales team members to ensure customer satisfaction
- Maintain professional phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Keep detailed records of customer interactions, sales, and inventory using Microsoft Excel or CMMS software
- Uphold dealership standards for customer service, communication, and organizational skills
Requirements
- Proven experience in automotive repair, automotive service, or dealership environments preferred
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and repair procedures
- Experience with inventory management systems, POS systems, and retail math principles
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish/English) are highly desirable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, CMMS software, and general organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability in sales management, negotiation, and customer service excellence
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and perform cashiering duties effectively
- Knowledge of automotive parts cataloging systems such as OEM databases or aftermarket catalogs (e.g., Dealer Management Systems)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in stock management and order fulfillment
- Dealership experience or retail sales background is preferred but not required
- Valid driver’s license is a plus for inventory deliveries or pickups

Pay: $56,016.99 - $67,461.32 per year
