Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanic role based in Grand Rapids, MI. The Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing company vehicles and related equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. Daily tasks include performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, completing preventive maintenance services, and documenting all work performed in maintenance logs or systems. The role involves troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, ordering or requesting necessary parts, and collaborating with dispatch and operations teams to minimize equipment downtime. The Mechanic also helps maintain a clean, safe shop environment and adheres to all safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications
- Strong skills in Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair of commercial vehicles and related equipment.
- Experience with Preventive Maintenance programs, including inspections, servicing, and component replacement.
- Hands-on background working with Heavy Equipment or heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and related systems.
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems using diagnostic tools and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with safety regulations, DOT requirements, and standard shop practices.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and parts catalogs.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training, technical certification, or ASE certifications in relevant areas are preferred.
- Capability to lift and move heavy components and work in a physically demanding shop environment.
- Valid driver’s license; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus.
