Job description:
We are seeking a dependable and skilled Mechanic to join our team. This position involves diagnosing, repairing, and performing maintenance on a variety of equipment, including 2-stroke, 4-stroke, and diesel engines, as well as trailers, man lifts, and other related units.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in small engine repair and general maintenance of diesel equipment. We are willing to provide training for the right candidate who demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
In this role, you will perform essential repairs, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure all equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of equipment to identify potential issues before they lead to breakdowns
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on various machinery using appropriate tools and techniques
- Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters to measure electrical resistance and troubleshoot electrical systems effectively
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used for each piece of equipment
- Collaborate with team members to develop maintenance schedules that maximize equipment uptime
- Follow safety protocols rigorously during all maintenance procedures to ensure a safe working environment
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Equipment Mechanic or similar role
- Must be familiar and willing to work on trailers, home repair equipment, man lifts, stump grinders, lawn mowers, cement mixers, ect
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics accurately
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools including ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Tools and box required, workbench will be provided
