The Van Rensselaer Manor Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Facility is owned and operated by Rensselaer County, located on a beautiful 20 acre campus in North Greenbush, just outside the City of Troy.
We are seeking full time RN candidates for supervisory work, directly assisting the Director of Nursing (DON) in developing a geriatric nursing program and coordinating the activities of nursing personnel. The work is performed under the supervision of the DON, with considerable leeway permitted for exercise of independent judgment.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited school with successful completion of Registered Professional Nurse and three (3) years of acceptable professional nursing supervisory experience.
Full Performance Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics: Working knowledge of geriatric nursing care; sympathetic attitude toward the chronically ill and elderly; good knowledge of nursing techniques and a high degree of skill in their application; ability to supervise specialized nursing services; leadership ability, including securing the cooperation of others; good observation; mental alertness; thoroughness; patience; emotional stability; good knowledge of medical dietetics, sanitation and personal hygiene; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
