ABOUT THIS ROLE
Van Martin Roofing is looking for an experienced Service Foreman to lead field service projects across residential and commercial properties. This is a full-time, field-based position based out of our Xenia, OH location.
The Service Foreman leads assigned service projects from start to finish, diagnoses roofing and exterior issues, and trains and supports service technicians and crew members. This role requires hands-on roofing knowledge, strong attention to detail, and the ability to lead others while delivering high-quality work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Leadership
- Lead and manage assigned service projects from start to finish
- Train, guide, and support service technicians and crew members in a small team environment
- Set the example for quality, safety, professionalism, and work ethic on the job site
Communication & Customer Relations
- Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and coworkers
- Communicate job progress, material needs, concerns, and completion updates to the appropriate manager or internal team
Diagnosis & Repair
- Diagnose leaks and exterior issues on residential and commercial properties
- Identify potential sources related to roofing, HVAC, skylights, masonry, siding, flashing, and other exterior areas
- Identify and correct deficiencies to industry standards and Van Martin quality expectations
Roofing Systems & Specialty Work
- Complete service repairs using appropriate roofing tools, materials, and methods
- Work with shingle, EPDM, TPO, PVC, metal, modified, and BUR roof systems
- Perform or assist with chimney flashing, VELUX skylight, sun tunnel installation, curb flashing, welding, and related service work
Tools, Equipment & Inventory
- Use roofing hand tools, handheld power tools, and specialty equipment safely and properly
- Complete truck, tool, material, and equipment inventory as required
Safety & Job Site Standards
- Maintain job site cleanliness and protect customer property
- Follow all safety procedures and direct others to do the same
Documentation & Technology
- Use smartphones, tablets, apps, and company systems to document work and communicate job information

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- 3 years of full-time commercial or residential roofing experience preferred
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to properly set up and climb ladders
- Ability to safely navigate sloped surfaces and roofing areas
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds up a ladder
- Comfortable working outdoors and in various weather conditions
- Ability to use basic roofing hand tools, handheld power tools, and learn new technology
- Ability to follow safety procedures and ensure others follow them
Preferred:
- Experience with shingle, EPDM, TPO, PVC, metal, modified, and BUR roof systems
- Experience with Leister, robot welding, curb flashing, chimney flashing, VELUX skylights, and sun tunnel installation
- High school diploma or equivalent
