Purchasing Assistant

Position Summary

The Purchasing Assistant supports daily purchasing operations by processing orders, maintaining accurate product and vendor data, and assisting with vendor communication. This is an entry-level role working under direct supervision, handling routine tasks while escalating more complex issues. Ideal for someone looking to build a career in purchasing or supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and prepare purchase orders
• Follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery
• Communicate with vendors for pricing, quotes, and product details
• Maintain accurate product, pricing, and inventory data
• Assist with cost comparisons and product research
• Support vendor management, including samples and documentation
• Help process Return Goods Authorizations (RGAs) and maintain records
• Provide administrative support to Purchasing and Operations teams

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; 0–2 years of experience preferred
• Strong Excel, Outlook, and data entry skills (SAP a plus)
• Detail-oriented with good organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple teams
• Self-motivated, dependable, and eager to learn
