Job Summary: The Operations Coordinator is responsible for supporting and coordinating all operations which occur at the company. To oversee the daily operations of planning and manufacturing. This position supports individual leads and production personnel to perform the functions of their jobs effectively and efficiently to increase production.
Essential Functions:
· Planning and organizing production schedules
· Manage the production schedule to ensure on-time delivery
· Review of new products for manufacturability
· Ensure that manufacturing and personnel consistently meet or exceed deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality
· Supports the HACCP and HARPC food safety plans in the implementation of an effective focus on reducing biological, chemical (including allergens), physical, and economically motivated hazards from the foods manufactured.
· Defined responsibilities for those who need to be aware of unsafe or out-of-specification product, equipment, packaging, or raw materials, to a designated supervisor to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate action.
· Activities for managing/monitoring CCP’s or PPC’ and the critical limits/parameters are conducted at the prescribed frequency, using the correct method, and documented outlined in the Food Safety Plan Critical Control Point/Preventive Control Monitoring Procedures.
· Basic training and understanding of plant GMP’s, hygiene, hand washing and sanitizing, allergen controls, and the requirement to inform management as an issue is identified. The ability to work effectively and ensure food safety, legality and quality are maintained.
· Ensure all processes are being followed as they should
· Responsible for scheduling and monitoring daily housekeeping, master cleaning schedule, and other nonfood contact areas in the plant.
· Update and adhere to Master Sanitation Schedule. Must delegate and oversee daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly assigned sanitation tasks.
· Help identify and eliminate possible bacterial harborage throughout processing areas.
· Knowledge of chemical rotation regimens to ensure environmental bacteria do not become immune to sanitizers.
· Work closely with the QA team to ensure that all sanitation practices meet or exceed internal and external food safety and quality standards.
· Work with the QA Department for continuous improvement of ATP and environmental monitoring results.
· Directly support sanitation and hygiene requirements of the USDA and FDA-mandated environmental monitoring programs.
· Report any issues such as near misses, safety concerns, quality concerns, food safety issues or observations etc. to plant management and assist the team in troubleshooting root cause and developing solutions
· Plan and determine requirements necessary for the successful rollout of new products
· Responsible for the direct supervision and leadership of production personnel
· Ensure all employees follow industry standard health and safety guidelines
· Provide accurate and detailed daily/weekly/monthly reports to plant management
· Develop good employee relations based upon company vision
· Perform other duties as may be assigned
· Cross train in various functions of the department and assist team members whenever needed
· Exemplifies a safe and healthy work environment and communicates effectively with cross-functional team members.
· Actively maintains a food safety culture within the site to ensure food safety practices and all requirements of the SQF Systems are adopted and maintained.
· Able to investigate a product/process failure, using root cause analysis to determine root cause analysis and take prompt corrective actions while minimizing product exposure and production down time (e.g., foreign material, food quality and food adulterated investigations) quickly and thoroughly.
· Acts upon, investigates and corrects all food safety and quality concerns, as well as health and human safety concerns reported to them.
· Perform other related duties and special projects assigned
Required Qualifications:
· HS Diploma or equivalent
· 5 yrs. of Production/Plant operation experience in a food manufacturing facility
· 5 yrs experience in a leadership or supervisory role is required
· Must have a flexible schedule to work any shift within reason
· Demonstrate knowledge of food safety and general plant safety practices and procedures
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Knowledge of LEAN, and problem-solving tools
· Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
· Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively
· Bilingual a must (English and Spanish)
· Ability to work in a team environment.
· Ability to appear for work on time.

· Ability to perform under pressure and in a hectic environment
· Ability to follow directions from a supervisor
Working Conditions:
· Cold and wet production areas
· This is a full-time position. The position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work
Physical Requirements:
· Stand for extended periods of time up to 8 hours.
· Employees are regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
· Lifting up to 40 lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
