Van Gundy Insurance is looking for an energetic, motivated, and organized individual to work as a Customer Service Representative in the Commercial Lines Department of our fast-paced and growing office.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Process applications for new business, assisting in the retention of renewal business, and handling policy changes for clients.
- Prepare proposals for new and current customers in accordance with our agency standards, while collaborating productively with the agent.
- Create comparisons, schedule lists, and other coverage breakdown documents for renewal business.
- Respond to underwriters, company personnel, or clients’ questions in a timely and professional manner via phone call and/or email.
- Maintain a high degree of documentation accuracy in our agency management system.
- Manage the agents’ book of business through excellent customer service.

- Ability to work successfully in a team-based environment.

- Cultivate a cordial and professional relationship with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of working independently and multi-task but can accept constructive criticism when necessary.
- Handle the workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities while meeting deadlines.
- Must be comfortable with internet-based programs and portals.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Suite products, particularly Outlook and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Customer service and/or receptionist experience
- Experience with insurance.
- Knowledge of AMS360
- State of Illinois Property & Casualty Insurance license
