This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of ready mix/haul trucks. Deliveries will be made in both industrial and residential areas. Work will be performed per the Batch/Plant Manager, free from direct supervision except for more complicated jobs. Delivery and shift schedules will be directed and scheduled by DISPATCH (including plant locations as work schedules demand).
The driver is responsible for the efficient working conditions and cleanliness of equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor. Drivers will be expected to assist in maintaining a clean and safe working environment in and around the batch plant as per supervisor's instruction. Essential Functions:

- Deliver material as customer specifies, after determining customer’s requests are safe and possible. Communicates truck/job status to dispatch professionally and maintain good public relations with customer.
- Maintain the appearance of truck, proper air pressure in tires, proper fluid levels, oil, hydraulic, coolant and fuel. Perform minor repairs to truck as needed.
- Maintain load in transit to job. Adds fiber reinforcement and other additives to load as directed. Inspects load during wash down, reports any problems after proper mix time of 3-5 minutes.
- Complete washout procedures both during and at end-of-day; cleans truck after delivery to prevent concrete from hardening in mixer and on truck; may spray surfaces of truck with protective compound to prevent adhering of concrete.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections during allotted time to ensure safe operation of truck and mixer.
- Ensure that safety, compliance, environmental and DOT requirements are followed at all times.
- Adhere to designated schedule and request PTO/Vacation in appropriate manner, as well as call in according to policy. (call in 1hr before shift start time and 2wk for PTO/vacation requests, requests aren’t guaranteed and await approval to confirm plans).
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
