Due to high demand, the company has expanded to multiple locations and now offers a wide range of durable concrete products for various applications. They currently operate five portable batch plants that can be set up anywhere in the U.S. to accommodate different projects, from driveways to Wind Turbine foundations across the nation.
Job Summary
The Cattle Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily care, health, and management of a cattle herd of 200 head, including feeding, breeding, pasture management, and overall animal well-being. This role includes monitoring herd health, administering preventive care and treatments, maintaining accurate records of herd health and performance, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and animal welfare standards. The Cattle Manager works closely with management and farm staff to ensure efficient and effective cattle operations.
Cattle Manager Duties
- Supervise and coordinate all activities related to 200 head of cattle including care and management
- Develop and implement herd health plans and ensure compliance with regulations
- Monitor the wellbeing of cattle and ensure that they are properly cared for
- Maintain records of breeding, feed, movement, and other livestock-related activities
- Inspect facilities, equipment, and fences to ensure their proper maintenance
- Schedule and coordinate cattle transportation, feeding, and related services
- Manage staff and ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner
Cattle Manager Skills
- Knowledge of cattle rearing and husbandry
- Ability to manage and coordinate a team of workers
- Proven experience in animal health and nutrition
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
Cattle Manager Requirements
- 5 years managing cattle herd of 200 head and associated operations
- Implement cattle health protocols and maintenance routines
- Develop and maintain records for cattle herd
- Monitor staff performance and provide coaching and feedback
- 2 work references required
