What are the responsibilities and job description for the Property Caretaker/Groundskeeper position at Princess Cattle Company?
Hands-on caretaker to oversee the day-to-day maintenance, upkeep, and operation of a private property. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual who takes pride in maintaining grounds, structures, and systems, and who can manage a wide variety of property-related tasks with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Grounds & Outdoor Maintenance
- Maintain and operate a greenhouse, including planting, upkeep, and seasonal care.
- Perform routine lawn care, including mowing and general landscape maintenance.
- Conduct wood chipping as needed; company provides a chipper (candidate should be comfortable operating it).
- Maintain and repair sprinkler/irrigation systems.
- Perform general planting and property beautification tasks.
- Maintain chicken coop areas, including cleaning, repairs, and general upkeep.
- Assist with seasonal outdoor projects and improvements.
- Tree trimming as needed.
Property & Facility Maintenance
- Perform general house and building maintenance, including minor repairs and upkeep.
- Complete painting projects as needed (interior and exterior).
- Oversee and maintain pool operations, including basic cleaning, chemical balance, and coordination of any specialized services if required.
- Identify maintenance issues early and proactively address them to prevent larger repairs.
- Coordinate with maintenance team on larger maintenance projects to be completed in a timely manner.
- Keep the equipment barn clean and organized.
Equipment & Operations
- Maintain calendar of regular maintenance tasks to be accomplished.
- Safely operate and maintain property equipment.
- Coordinate transport and use of the woodchipper across the property (note: chipper is provided; other equipment and trailer are not).
- Maintain an organized approach to tools, materials, and supplies.
- Keep a running list of all needed supplies.
General Property Oversight
- Act as a primary point of responsibility for overall property condition and functionality.
- Communicate maintenance needs, project updates, and recommendations clearly and professionally.
- Support ongoing property improvement initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Prior experience in property management, estate maintenance, landscaping, or a similar hands-on role.
- Strong mechanical and general maintenance skills.
- Comfortable working independently and managing a varied workload.
- Ability to operate lawn and maintenance equipment safely.
- Physically able to perform outdoor and manual labor in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license required.

Pay: $60, $70,000.00 per year
