What are the responsibilities and job description for the Secretary position at Van Dyke Public Schools?
POSITION: SECRETARY – LINCOLN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
EFFECTIVE: Beginning of 2026-2027 School Year
WORKYEAR: Ten (10) Months
HOURS: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
SALARY: Per Master Agreement
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate, including or supplemented by courses in typing, word processing and business practices providing the following knowledge, abilities and skills:
1. Considerable knowledge of business English, spelling and punctuation.
2. Working knowledge of modern office equipment, practices and procedures.
3. Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices.
4. Ability to maintain complex clerical records and prepare reports.
5. Ability to make decisions in accordance with established policies and regulations.
6. Ability to make relatively complex mathematical computations rapidly and accurately.
7. Ability to deal with the public tactfully and courteously and to work harmoniously with other employees.
8. Skilled in keyboarding.
9. Experience with Windows and Microsoft Word.
10. Knowledge of Power School.
11. Professional dress and appearance.
12. Other duties as assigned.
