Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers
- Handle chemical agents safely while performing cleaning tasks, adhering to all safety protocols and handling instructions
- Conduct routine janitorial duties including trash removal, dusting, sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces to maintain cleanliness standards
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks involving supplies or equipment by following safe lifting practices to prevent injury
- Maintain facilities by performing minor repairs or notifying maintenance teams of larger issues requiring professional attention
- Operate industrial cleaning machinery and tools effectively to ensure optimal floor care and buffing results
- Support general facilities maintenance tasks such as painting touch-ups or light repairs as needed to uphold the facility’s appearance
Experience
- Prior custodial or janitorial experience in commercial, industrial, or residential settings is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to handle chemical agents safely and responsibly during cleaning operations
- Experience operating floor buffers, scrubbers, or other industrial cleaning equipment is advantageous
- Knowledge of proper manual handling techniques for heavy lifting tasks to ensure safety and efficiency
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance procedures including basic repairs and upkeep tasks
- Previous porter or custodial roles that involved comprehensive cleaning routines and maintenance responsibilities are highly desirable
