Position Overview
Van Buren County Hospital is seeking a Food Service Worker to join our Food & Nutrition Services team. This position supports patient care by assisting with meal preparation, food service, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
The ideal candidate is dependable, works well with others, and is committed to providing quality service to patients, staff, and visitors.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and assemble patient meals according to dietary guidelines
- Deliver and collect patient meal trays
- Assist with food preparation and kitchen operations
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas
- Follow food safety and infection control standards
- Assist with stocking food and supplies
- Support cafeteria operations and customer service as needed
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous food service experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and reliability
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment
