Position Overview

Van Buren County Hospital is seeking a Food Service Worker to join our Food & Nutrition Services team. This position supports patient care by assisting with meal preparation, food service, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

The ideal candidate is dependable, works well with others, and is committed to providing quality service to patients, staff, and visitors.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and assemble patient meals according to dietary guidelines
  • Deliver and collect patient meal trays
  • Assist with food preparation and kitchen operations
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas
  • Follow food safety and infection control standards
  • Assist with stocking food and supplies
  • Support cafeteria operations and customer service as needed

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous food service experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment
