Valvetronic Designs is recruiting a creative, motivated, digitally enabled Quality Assurance Manager with instructional content experience to join our fast-paced team. The ideal candidate will be a conceptual thinker that has a mechanical mindset with a visual imagination. This candidate will be an automotive enthusiast who enjoys working on vehicles installing aftermarket parts and accessories. They will establish best-in-class practices to ensure all products meet the required quality standards.
Education and Experience
- 3 years of experience in the automotive industry with demonstrated technical ability to create standard operating procedures (SOP) guides, and instructional guides aiding in the installation of automotive parts and accessories, specifically with exhaust systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline required. High school diploma plus equivalent and relevant work experience may be considered.
- Weld and fabrication knowledge required to access and recommend corrective actions.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills – you know your stuff and can engage with colleagues and customers in a positive, productive way.
- Strong writing (knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure) and editing skills with experience in content and instructional manuals.
- Excellent analytical, mechanical, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to create engaging and interactive learning content in print and digital.
- Ability to apply design thinking to create a positive learning/content user experience.
- Capacity to turn complex instructional information into understandable content for SOPs and instructions.
- Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, specifically with InDesign, Photoshop, and Lightroom a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Skilled at producing photographical artwork for content.
- Initiative-taking, with the ability to multi-task and work independently.
- Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads the planning, monitoring, and execution and reporting of assigned projects.
- Develops and implements quality control processes.
- Conducts audits and collaborates with other departments to resolve quality-related issues.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory standards.
- Analyzes quality performance and return data to actively resolve returns issues and lower defect/return rates.
- Collaborates with the Project Manager and R&D team in order to develop instructional content.
- Assist with disassembly and assembly of vehicles to develop and implement instructional “how-to” manuals for print and digital.
- Produce and edit clear concise photographs for use in corrective action reports.
- Author content and create instructional manuals.
- Layout materials for publication.
- Take an active role in reducing warranty and return issues though instructional role and report on activities.
- Assists the Project Manager with test fitment and review of commercial off-the-shelf designs (COTS) and works with R&D to create test fitment and corrective action reports.
- Assists the Project Manager with the first article sample inspection of original design manufacture (ODM) designs.
