Product Development Project Manager

Valvetronic Designs is recruiting a dynamic, meticulous, and initiative-taking Project Manager to join our fast-paced product development team. The ideal candidate has at least one-five years of experience in a position of similar responsibility in the automotive aftermarket. They will be a conceptual thinker that has a mechanical mindset with a visual imagination. This candidate will be an automotive enthusiast who enjoys problem solving, collaborates well, and is an excellent communicator.
As a Project Manager at Valvetronic Designs you will lead the monitoring, execution, and successful completion of product development projects – on time, on quality and on scope to drive success.
Education and Experience
• 5 years of experience in the automotive industry with demonstrated ability to manage projects related to the development of automotive parts and accessories, specifically with exhaust systems.
• Track record of successfully launching products and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline required. High school diploma plus equivalent and relevant work experience may be considered.
• Certification in CAD tools or relevant engineering software.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Excellent written and oral communication skills – you know your stuff and can engage with colleagues and customers in a positive, productive way.
• Excellent analytical, mechanical, and critical thinking skills.
• Proven ability to execute tactical projects and manage the details that take a product from concept to customer.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and familiarity with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks with minimal oversight.
• Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, specifically with Acrobat, Photoshop, and Lightroom.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and driven by both accountability and craftsmanship.
• Initiative-taking, with the ability to multi-task and work independently.
• Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Follow projects all the way through from conceptual design to launch and field support - including rapid prototyping, design documentation, cost analysis, vendor sampling, installation testing, performance validation, and quality control oversight.
• Develop detailed CAD models and technical drawings for custom parts using software such as SolidWorks, Fusion360
• Maintain accurate documentation, including BOMs (Bill of Materials), assembly instructions, and revision histories.
• Coordinates the test fitment and review of commercial off-the-shelf designs (COTS) and works with R&D to create test fitment and corrective action reports.
• Conducts first article sample inspection of original design manufacture (ODM) designs.
• Collaborates with multiple teams to gather and obtain new product information and ensure that data enters databases quickly and accurately.
• Troubleshoot issues identified by customers on existing products and recommend solutions.
• Support the product development team by handling administrative and operational tasks.
• Collaborate with clients, designers, and fabricators to refine designs based on specifications, materials, and manufacturing constraints.
• Other duties as assigned.
