Title: AWS Architect

Location: Princeton, NJ (onsite)

Role Overview:

This position is for a senior hands-on architecture consultant to support a large strategic initiative within the insurance domain. The role requires a strong AWS architect with proven experience designing enterprise-scale solutions, leading architecture across complex workstreams, and partnering closely with engineering and business teams to move from concept through delivery.

This is a hands-on role with direct responsibility for solution design, architecture decision making, and technical leadership across a large initiative. The ideal candidate will bring strong P&C insurance or specialty insurance experience, deep AWS architecture knowledge, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving enterprise environment.

Delivers Solution Architecture:

• Assesses the current solution architecture landscape including existing platforms, detailed designs, integrations, and technical decision
• Identifies architectural gaps, risks, technical debt and areas of concern, and provides practical recommendations and target-state directions for remediation and alignment.
• Creates conceptual, logical, and high-level architecture for current application ecosystem and future initiatives.
• Provides recommendations to align solutions with HSB and Munich Re standards.
• Supports ongoing initiatives with hands-on architecture guidance and design documentation.
• Prepares architecture materials and supports teams through SAS and SDF approval processes.
• Provides AWS architecture support across AWS-native and multi-cloud solutions.
• Supports engineering modernization efforts and related architecture work as needed.
• Works closely with delivery, product, and business teams to translate requirements into practical solution designs.
• Ensures architecture addresses scalability, resiliency, security, supportability, and integration needs.
• Creates required architecture documentation and maintains design artifacts.
• Supports implementation teams by clarifying design intent and resolving architecture issues.
• Provide architecture input on AI capabilities and developer enablement tooling, where relevant including services such as bedrock and comparable tools.

• Prepares architecture materials, design summaries, and recommendations for review.
• Communicates key risks, dependencies, and design concerns in a clear and actionable way.
• Supports structured review and approval activities associated with SAS and SDF..

Required working experience & education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 10 years in solution architecture, application architecture, or similar senior technical roles.
• Strong hands-on architecture and solution design experience on large enterprise initiatives.
• Strong experience reviewing detailed technical designs and creating high-level architecture.
• Strong AWS architecture experience.
• Insurance industry experience is required.
• Experience in P&C, specialty, or cyber insurance strongly preferred.
• Experience working with insurance platforms, product ecosystems, or enterprise technology environments supporting insurance operations.
