JOB SUMMARY
The Patient Account Specialist for Value-Based RCM, Inc. (VBRCM) is responsible for managing inbound and outbound calls related to patient accounts, all while ensuring the highest level of patient satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Use, protect, and disclose patient protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
- Exhibit professional behavior and communication skills representative of VBRCM's commitment to superior customer service
- Interact with patients via phone, email, or online chat to provide support and information on their account or upcoming procedure, using professional telephone etiquette
- Assist patients with inquiries regarding their account, charge descriptions and insurance Coordinate with various departments within VBRCM to ensure patient requests are handled appropriately and timely
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and services within the department and company Maintain a strong knowledge of client processes
- Support team through strong attendance and performance Perform other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, including active listening
- Working knowledge of EOB’s, CPT and DX codes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of HIPAA and PHI guidelines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability and desire to work in a remote environment
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Healthcare customer service experience required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
