JOB OVERVIEW: 

Valtim Marketing Solutions is a full-service marketing solutions company specializing in multi-channel direct marketing. We are seeking an experienced System Administrator to manage and maintain our hybrid IT infrastructure consisting of approximately 45 virtual servers and 100 endpoint devices. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our on-premises and cloud-based systems that support our organization's daily operations.

Infrastructure Management

• Administer and maintain 45 virtual servers running Windows Server (2008 R2 through 2025) and Linux distributions (Debian, Red Hat)
• Manage Hyper-V virtualization environment using System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM)
• Monitor and maintain failover cluster infrastructure to ensure high availability
• Perform server provisioning, configuration, patching, and lifecycle management
• Utilize iDRAC for out-of-band server management and troubleshooting

Endpoint & Device Management

• Support approximately 100 Windows desktop and laptop devices
• Deploy and manage endpoints using NinjaOne RMM platform
• Ensure endpoint security compliance and patch management
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for end-user devices

Identity & Access Management

• Administer hybrid Azure Active Directory and on-premises Active Directory environments
• Manage user accounts, groups, permissions, and security policies
• Maintain and support Cisco DUO multi-factor authentication (MFA) system
• Implement and enforce access control policies and security best practices

Network & Security

• Maintain network infrastructure including switches, access points, cabling, and firewalls
• Manage OpenVPN infrastructure for secure remote access
• Monitor and respond to security alerts using Bitdefender GravityZone
• Implement security hardening and compliance measures across the infrastructure
• Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability remediation

Microsoft 365 Administration

• Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive
• Manage user licensing, mailboxes, and collaboration tools
• Configure and maintain security and compliance policies within M365

Monitoring & Maintenance

• Proactively monitor system performance, availability, and capacity using NinjaOne
• Perform regular backup verification and disaster recovery testing
• Document infrastructure changes, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
• Plan and execute system upgrades and maintenance windows
• Respond to after-hours incidents as needed

Project & Strategic Initiatives

• Lead server migration projects, particularly legacy Windows Server upgrades
• Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve efficiency and security
• Participate in infrastructure modernization and cloud migration initiatives
• Collaborate with vendors and third-party support teams

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES: 

Technical Skills

• 3-5 years of experience in system administration or similar role
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration (2012 R2 and newer)
• Experience with Linux server administration (Debian, Red Hat/CentOS)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Hyper-V, SCVMM, and failover clustering
• Solid understanding of Active Directory and Azure Active Directory (hybrid environments)
• Experience with RMM platforms (NinjaOne or similar)
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching)
• Experience with endpoint security solutions (Bitdefender or similar)
• Microsoft 365 administration experience
• Understanding of backup and disaster recovery principles

Certifications (Preferred)

• CompTIA A , Network , Security (Trifecta)
• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator Associate
• Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Customer service orientation with end-user support experience
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation practices
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.  
• Ability to bend, lift, stoop, reach, twist, turn, and will occasionally be required to utilize the stairs. 
• During installations crawling and assisting from a lift may be necessary 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

• Office-based position
• Occasional after-hours work for maintenance windows and system upgrades
• On-call availability for critical infrastructure support
