The Maintenance Technician supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This full-time position supports the Facilities team with the maintenance and upkeep of all YMCA properties, equipment and vehicles, in addition to special projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Complete all maintenance and repair projects as assigned in the maintenance software, in a timely fashion.
• Proactively work in tandem with the Facilities Manager to prevent any disruptions in services through maintenance and monitoring of the facilities’ mechanical and technical systems.
• Oversee the maintenance of Wellness Center equipment, as well as studio sound systems.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to resolve property and equipment emergencies after hours and on weekends.
• Responsible for partnering with the Wellness Director to assess all Wellness equipment for any necessary upkeep or servicing needs and minimizing interruptions in services.
• Complete necessary logs and paperwork, and updates maintenance software, for assigned areas and projects.
• Work with vendors and other parties on assigned areas and projects to ensure warranty work is completed and parts are ordered timely.
• Keep area supervisors briefed on the status of work being done in their respective areas.
• Exercise good decision making and safety practices during all aspects of work.
• Produce effective work with minimal supervision.
• Maintain a pleasant nature and is approachable when dealing with people.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations. Obtain and maintain required training(s).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Two to three years maintenance background required.
• Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and plumbing systems required. Certifications in one or more of these areas preferred.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• CPO certification preferred.
• Working knowledge of fitness industry and equipment repairs preferred; ability to acquire training within 90 days required.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products preferred.
SALARY:
Minimum starting rate of $19 an hour
Starting rate based on experience
