The Gym Supervisor supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This part-time position supports the Sports team through ensuring members experience positive interactions while maintaining a safe gym environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Supervise member use of gymnasium and exercise studios. This includes but is not limited to security, troubleshooting and monitoring appropriate behavior using cause driven language and providing teachable moments
• Intercede when building behaviors do not meet Y guidelines.
• Work with Members Services Leads to contact police, when/if needed.
• Set standard and provide example of exemplary member relationship building and member experience skills.
• Provide a presence in identified areas of the facility, connecting with members, interacting, collecting member stories, answering questions and resolving conflicts.
• Communicate actively with supervisor concerning ongoing building/member issues.
• Partner with Member Services Leads as necessary.
• Follow emergency procedures and safety precautions. Follow procedures for reporting all accidents, incidents and hazards.
• Adhere to all policies, rules, and regulations as outlined in employee handbook and other communications. Obtain and maintain required training(s).
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations. Obtain and maintain required training(s).
• Accept additional assignments as deemed appropriate, within the scope of the job description.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum age 18 required.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• 1 year customer service or building supervision experience preferred.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.
SALARY:
Minimum starting rate of $12 an hour
Starting rate based on experience
SCHEDULE:
Part-time evenings and weekends
Monday 4 to 7 pm
Tuesday 5 to 8 pm
Wednesday 4 to 7 pm
Thursday 4 to 7 pm
Friday 5 to 8 pm
Saturday 3 to 6 pm
Sunday 3 to 6 pm
